Introduction

Justuno Visitor ID is an advanced feature designed to enhance your browse, cart, and checkout abandonment flows within your email marketing platform. Traditionally, these flows only reach visitors who have submitted their email address via a pop-up or during checkout, meaning most abandonment emails target only a small fraction of your site’s departing visitors. With Visitor ID, you can identify 10–20% of previously anonymous website visitors and match them to real email addresses, automatically sending this data to your connected applications based on your chosen intent triggers. By combining Visitor ID with Justuno’s lead capture pop-ups, businesses typically capture emails from 20–30% of website visitors.

How does Visitor ID work

Justuno Visitor ID delivers a significant boost to your abandonment recovery by accurately identifying anonymous visitors and matching them to verified email addresses. When a user visits your website, Justuno instantly attempts to match each visitor to an email address. Matched emails are securely held until the contact enters a Visitor ID workflow, at which point the email address is sent to your integrated ESP or CRM. After an email is sent to your connected platform, you’ll need to have your abandonment flow established to deliver follow-up messages.

Instructions for other ESPs / CRMs

Justuno Visitor ID Workflows manage all aspects of segmentation, intent logic, multivariate testing, branching, and timing. When the workflow sends a matched email to your designated list within your connected application, your ESP/CRM can simply trigger a welcome or abandonment email tailored to the visitor's action—whether that’s an abandoned cart, product view, or checkout.

Is Visitor ID Accurate?

Justuno has prioritized accuracy above all in our Visitor ID solution. While some platforms may claim to identify two or three times as many anonymous visitors, this often comes at a significant cost: up to 85% of those matched emails may be inaccurate. Relying on such inflated match rates can negatively impact your business by:

  • Increasing your ESP costs, such as with Klaviyo, due to sending more emails to invalid contacts
  • Damaging your sender reputation by delivering messages to uninterested or unassociated recipients who never visited your site
  • Raising your spam complaint rate, making it harder for legitimate messages to reach your customers’ inboxes

With Justuno’s Visitor ID, only emails with a high confidence match are returned to your workflow ensuring every match meets our strict accuracy standards. Although this approach may result in fewer matched emails, our average accuracy rate is close to 90%, providing you with reliable contact data you can trust.
